Dr. Lin Li, FREng, has studied and worked in the UK for 37 years in the area of laser processing with several innovative technologies practically applied to the aerospace, automotive and semiconductor industries worldwide. He received Sir Frank Whittle Medal from the Royal Academy of Engineering, The Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award, Arthur L. Schawlow award from Laser Institute of America and Donald Julius Groen Prize from Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
He was elected to Fellow of Royal Academy of Engineering (UK) in 2013. He is currently an emeritus professor at The University of Manchester. During his academic career, he served as President of Laser Institute of America, President of Association of Laser Users (AILU) and President of International Academy of Photonics and Laser Engineering.
