Prof Man is Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is Chair Professor of Materials Engineering, Cheng Yick-chi Chair Professor in Manufacturing, the Director of the Research Institute of Advanced Manufacturing and Director of University Research Facility in 3D printing in PolyU. He is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of IMMM, UK, Fellow of Laser Institute of America, Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Engineering Sciences, Member of HKIE.
Prof Man's research interests are related to high-power laser materials processing, advanced manufacturing, surface engineering, corrosion and materials science and engineering. He has published over 270 papers, 5 patents and his current SCI H-index is 52. He is ranked among the top 2% most cited scientists in the world by Standford University. He is an Editor of Surface and Coatings Technology.
