Professor Andrew Y. C. Nee is an Emeritus Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at National University of Singapore, a Founding Fellow of Singapore Academy of Engineering (SAEng), a Fellow of The International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP) and Society of Manufacturing Engineers, U. S. (SME). He is the Chief Editor of International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology and Associate Chief Editor of Advances in Manufacturing.

He was the first ethnic Chinese President of CIRP since the establishment of CIRP, the first ethnic Chinese recipient of Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer Award (1982) and the 4th Asian recipient of Gold Medal, SME (2014). He was awarded a Doctor of Engineering degree (DEng) by the University of Manchester, Institute of Science and Technology in 2002 for revolutionary achievements and significant and impactful research in the areas of precision engineering. He was elected to Top 100 Asian Scientists (2016).
